Vans teams up with legendary BMX brand SE Bikes for a collection that celebrates bike life culture and honors both brands’ legacies.
On a sunny autumn day in 1970, in a vacant lot in Long Beach CA, 14-year-old Scot Breithaupt-founder of SE Racing-organized the first-ever BMX race. Since then, BMX as a sport has exploded, but SE Bikes has always remained at the forefront, combining BMX Innovations with a love of the sport and all things Bike Life.
Honoring a legacy that is both innovative and timeless, the Vans x SE Bikes Style 36 pays homage to Vans’ first ever sidestripe shoe and the PK Ripper, the signature bike of SE team rider Perry Kramer. With over 40 years of production, the PK Ripper is not only the longest running bike in the sport, but is also the most legendary BMX bike of all time. The Vans x SE Bikes Style 36 also features sturdy leather and textile uppers with a reflective checkerboard print at the sidestripes, padded collars, and signature rubber waffle outsoles.
